La Enchilada is a small-town Tex-Mex restaurant in Woodville. I suspect it gets quite crowded there at times, though it was not busy when I went. I grew up with Tex-Mex food from El Fenix in Dallas - especially their cheese enchiladas - so that has been the standard I have tended to use when comparing other Tex-Mex restaurants. This restaurant gets high marks from me! I ordered the Enchilada Dinner with cheese enchiladas, chili sauce, refried beans, and rice. Also, a margarita! The service was quick, the waitress was friendly, and the food was excellent.
Incredible enchiladas and service is also amazing. If you like Mexican, you will love this place 10/10 incredible.
Right from the jump let's recognize La Enchilada as 100% Tex-Mex. If you seek authentic Mexican food complete with the rolling R's then this is not your place. But if you're looking for some good ole comfort food, then this IS your place. Fantastic chips & salsa. Guacamole was also nice. The queso was cheesy greatness. I got the beef Chile relleno. The taste was good, but the batter was a moshed pile of dough. Beans and rice were ok. Really good food for the most part. I am taking off a bit due to the lackluster wait staff. Seems like talking and bullshitting is more important than hospitality. All considered, I'd go again. The food was that good.
Found this place a few months back. I could tell by the packed parking lot this place was going to be good. The chicken fajita has been my favorite thing to eat from the menu. Salsa has a nice kick to it
